Course Description

This five-day course is intended to provide a thorough review of the various fuel systems components related to an underground fuel storage tank system, how they should be installed properly, applicable codes, regulations, and recommended practices, as well as a hands-on inspection and review of the many items used in today’s underground fuel tank installations. 

Course Topics:

  • Introduction – Overview of Federal and State Regulations
  • Excavation Safety – Shoring and Trench Safety
  • Tank Installation – Types of tanks and installation procedures
  • Piping Installation – Types of piping and installation procedures
  • Containment Sumps – Review various types and the locations to be utilized
  • Spill & Overfill – Control methods and products
  • Tank Removals – Procedures and safety
  • Corrosion Control – Types of Cathodic Protection for tanks and piping
  • Release Detection – Approved methods for tanks and piping

This course will provide you with the basic knowledge and resources to become a great tank installer. Having knowledge of the industry prior to taking the course is helpful but not a requirement.

The course begins at 8:00 am (Eastern Time) and concludes at 4:30 pm (Eastern Time). There is a lunch break from approximately 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm and various breaks throughout the day.
