Course Description
This five-day course prepares experienced tank personnel with the specific requirements and tasks necessary for compliance inspection of existing UST’s. Details of required inspection items, along with necessary tools and site work are reviewed. Although this course is organized to follow the MDE Inspection Report, this class is intended for UST inspectors all over the country.

The successful completion of this course is required by the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) to take the state UST Inspector exam. To receive a Certificate of Successful Completion from NPTI, students must:
- Attend/sign-in to class each of the five days the course is in session
- Attend the entire eight-hour session each day
- Take the final exam and achieve an 80% or better
The course begins at 8:00 am (Eastern Time) and concludes at 4:30 pm (Eastern Time). There is a lunch break from approximately 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm and various breaks throughout the day.
