This five-day course is specifically designed for contractors, engineers and/or owners who are responsible for the inspection of shop fabricated and smaller field erected aboveground storage tanks (AST’s) of petroleum and chemical products. It meets the requirements of 40 CFR 112 as an industry standard. The course is based on Steel Tank Institute “Standard for the Inspection of Aboveground Storage Tanks” for periodic and formal inspections. Details of existing regulations and various required procedures, equipment, and methodologies are reviewed along with example component systems.
Students satisfactorily passing the STI exams administered at the end of this course will be awarded certification as an STI SP001 AST Inspector. All registrations for this course are handled by the Steel Tank Institute. Seating is limited to the first 30 registered students.
